Oxo Tower, LondonAfter being turned down for permission to place electric lights spelling OXO on the tower, architect Albert W Moore hit on a novel idea. He created an 'elemental geometric form' in glass on all four sides of the tower and so got round the restrictions on advertising. The site used to be owned by the Liebig Extract of Meat Company, the makers of Oxo, and cranes used to lift large quantities of meat off the barges on the river. The Oxo Tower is now a rather swanky restaurant with some great views.
